The Airoh Mathisse Illusion (code MTHI32) is the modular helmet Mathisse with the fluorescent orange Illusion graphic: matte gray shell, matte black chin guard, and fluorescent orange graphic. It features dual P/J ECE 22.05 homologation: it can be legally ridden both closed, like a full-face helmet, and with the chin guard raised, like an open-face helmet. The chin guard rotates 180° and locks above the shell. HRT thermoplastic shell in two sizes, internal sun visor, Pinlock lens included, Stop Wind, micrometric closure, and prepared for Bluetooth intercom. Declared weight from 1,675 g ± 50 g. The table shows the full model range according to the manufacturer. For this graphic, we only have size M. Measure your head circumference with a tailor's tape measure just above the eyebrows, at the widest point; when in doubt between two sizes, choose the larger one.

Who is it perfect for?

It is the modular helmet for those who alternate city riding and touring: closed on the bypass and motorway, open at traffic lights, service stations, and stops, without needing to remove it and without breaking the law thanks to the dual P/J homologation. The internal sun visor and the Pinlock lens already in the box make it ready for all seasons from day one. The Illusion graphic in this version combines matte gray with fluorescent orange.

Frequently asked questions

What does dual P/J homologation mean?
It means the helmet is approved in two configurations: P with the chin guard closed, like a full-face helmet, and J with the chin guard raised, like an open-face helmet. You can therefore ride legally even when open, which is not permitted on a P-only homologated modular helmet. ECE 22.05 homologation.

Why does it cost so little?
Because the first-generation Mathisse has been removed from the Airoh catalog, replaced in the range by the Mathisse II, and the Illusion graphic is no longer produced: this is one of the last pieces in stock, at an end-of-series price. The helmet is nonetheless new, boxed, and covered by the manufacturer's warranty.

Is the Pinlock included?
Yes: the Pinlock 70 lens is in the box and the visor is already prepared to mount it. It is the internal lens that removes fogging in cold and humid weather: it is applied once, before the first winter rides.

Can I mount an intercom on it?
Yes, the helmet is Bluetooth-Ready, meaning it is prepared to host a communication system. The intercom is not included and is purchased separately. On a modular helmet, it is advisable to choose a kit with a microphone that does not obstruct the rotation of the chin guard.

Are spare parts still available?
Yes: Airoh still keeps spare parts for the first-generation Mathisse in its catalog, including clear, tinted, and mirrored visors, Stop Wind, liners, and air vents. The replacement chin guard is available in solid colors (matte black, matte bronze, glossy white), not in the Illusion graphic.

Is M my size and how much does it weigh?
M is for a head circumference of 57-58 cm: measure it with a tailor's tape measure just above the eyebrows, and if you are between two sizes, choose the larger one. It is the only size in this graphic that we have. Size M uses the first of the two shell sizes. The manufacturer declares a weight starting from 1,675 g, with a tolerance of 50 g; when shipped, packaging included, we estimate about 2.13 kg.
