Frequently asked questions
Is a tall windshield always better?
No, not for everyone. The ideal windshield deflects the wind over the rider's helmet; too low doesn't protect, too high generates aerodynamic turbulence right on the helmet ("buffeting"). The practical rule: the upper edge of the windshield, with you seated on the motorcycle, should reach between your nose and the top of your helmet.
Why is the mounting kit separate?
Because the same windshield can be mounted on different motorcycles by only changing the mounting kit. Kappa and Givi sell standardized windshields and model-specific mounting kits. This way, you keep the windshield if you change motorcycles, buying only the new kit. If you change the windshield, you keep your kit.
Windshield noisy at certain speeds: what to do?
If you hear whistling or abnormal noise, it is often the upper edge that generates a vortex against the helmet. Try adjusting the inclination if your windshield has adjustment, or switch to a different height model. In stubborn cases, a small additional deflector can change the flow and solve the problem.
