Frequently asked questions
Which intercoms is the Refreshment Kit for?
Cardo declares it compatible with the Packtalk, Freecom, and Spirit series. In the kit, you will find both a Freecom adhesive plate and a Packtalk adhesive plate, as well as sponges and stickers for different speaker diameters. If you are not sure about your device's series, contact us for further information.
Are there speakers or microphones in the kit?
No. The Refreshment Kit contains only mounting and consumable material: cleaning wipes, adhesive plates, Velcro, sponges, and stickers. Speakers, microphones, cradles, and the intercom control unit are not included. If you need any of these spare parts as well, contact us for more information and we will provide the original Cardo part number.
Can I use it to mount the intercom on a new helmet?
Yes, that is one of the uses indicated by Cardo: the kit is designed to replace old components and to install the intercom on a new helmet. It contains an adhesive plate, Velcro, sponges, and stickers to redo the installation, plus two wipes to clean the helmet surface before application.
Which speaker sponges does it contain?
It contains two sponges for 32 mm speakers and two sponges for 45 mm speakers, which according to Cardo are also compatible with 40 mm speakers. There are also two stickers for 32 mm speakers and two for 40 mm speakers, to refasten them correctly inside the helmet.
And what is included for the microphone?
The kit contains one large and one normal sponge for the hybrid or boom microphone, one sponge for the wired microphone, and one sticker for the normal-sized hybrid or boom microphone. These are the parts that wear out the most with use and should be refreshed when the microphone loses effectiveness.
