If you have a GT-Air 3, a Neotec 3, or a J-Cruise 3, you have three options. The first two are integrated into the helmet, the third is the classic external unit.

In summary: the 4X-S is the choice for those who ride in pairs or small groups of three or four and want a clean helmet; the Packtalk-S costs more but offers a mesh network for 15 participants, IP67 rating, and an additional year of warranty; the Freecom 4X has the exact same performance as the 4X-S but is a universal external unit that you can move to another helmet later. Frequently Asked Questions

Does it fit my Shoei?
Only if it's a GT-Air 3, a Neotec 3, or a J-Cruise 3. Previous generations (GT-Air 2, Neotec 2, J-Cruise 2) have different compartments and are not compatible. If in doubt, write us the exact model and we will confirm it for you.

What's the difference with the Packtalk-S?
The helmet compartment is the same, but the technology inside differs. The 4X-S uses Bluetooth intercom: up to 4 riders and 1.2 km. The Packtalk-S uses DMC mesh network: up to 15 riders and 1.6 km, plus declared IP67 and 3 years warranty instead of 2. The Packtalk-S costs €130 more at list price.

Does it connect to my friends' intercoms?
Yes, via Bluetooth, both with other Cardo devices and with devices from major brands. However, when connecting to someone with a mesh Packtalk, the conversation still takes place via Bluetooth, with the limitations of Bluetooth.

Is it waterproof?
Cardo does not publish an IP rating for the 4X-S; some retailers indicate IP65. It is still a device designed to be on a helmet and withstand rain, but if you want a protection rating certified by the manufacturer, the choice is the Packtalk-S, declared IP67. We prefer to tell you clearly instead of stating a number that Cardo does not confirm.
