The Kappa KNH1201 is the upper tubular engine guard — the upper bar — specific for the Honda XL 750 Transalp from 2023 to 2026 and for the new Transalp E-Clutch. Made of black painted Ø 25 mm tubular steel, it protects the upper part of the engine on the sides of the two radiators, the area that in a side fall risks being the most expensive: a punctured radiator means a stopped motorcycle and fluid on the ground.
The KNH1201 is the upper bar and attaches to the lower engine guard. Therefore:
• Do you already have the lower engine guard (the Kappa KN1201, or the original Honda one)? The KNH1201 is enough on its own.
• Don't you have it? You need to add the KNH1201KIT fitting kit, which allows you to mount it without the lower engine guard.
• On the Transalp E-Clutch, the reference lower engine guard is not the KN1201 but the KN1222; the KNH1201KIT kit remains the same.
✓ Strengths
- Protects the radiator area – the upper part of the engine, where the lower engine guard does not reach
- Ø 25 mm tubular steel – the section that Kappa adopts for adventure protections
- Black painted finish – consistent with the Transalp's chassis
- Bilateral protection – right and left bars
- Can also be mounted alone – with the KNH1201KIT kit, without lower engine guard
- Also covers the new E-Clutch – same upper bar

• This code is the upper bar. If you are looking for the lower engine protection, the code is KN1201 (or KN1222 on the E-Clutch): they are different and complementary products.
• It is recommended that installation be performed by a qualified mechanic for proper tightening and alignment.
• Verify model, trim, and first registration year on the vehicle registration document before purchasing.

Who is it perfect for?
For those who have a Transalp and use it as a true adventure bike: dirt roads, travel, daily use. The lower engine guard saves your crankcase, but it's the upper part — that of the radiators and engine sides — that takes the hit when the bike falls on its side. A punctured radiator leaves you stranded far from home, and the upper bar is exactly what you need to prevent it. If you don't already have the lower engine guard, remember to add the KNH1201KIT.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I mount it without the lower engine guard? Yes, but you need the KNH1201KIT fitting kit. If you already have the KN1201 or the original Honda lower engine guard, the KNH1201 is enough on its own.
What is the difference between it and the KN1201? The KN1201 is the lower engine guard, protecting the crankcase and lower part. The KNH1201 is the upper bar and protects the radiator area. They are complementary, not alternative.
Is it suitable for the 2025 or 2026 Transalp? Yes, the Kappa portal indicates it for the XL 750 Transalp 2023-2024 and 2025-2026.
What about the Transalp E-Clutch? Yes. However, on that version, the reference lower engine guard is the KN1222, not the KN1201.
Does it protect both sides? Yes, there are two bars, right and left.
Can I mount it myself? Kappa recommends having the installation performed by a qualified mechanic for proper tightening and alignment.
