The chin guard rotates 180° and locks above the shell. It is the modular helmet for those who alternate city and touring: closed on the ring road and highway, open at traffic lights, at the gas station, and during stops, without taking it off and without being outside the law thanks to the double P/J homologation. Frequently Asked Questions

What does double P/J homologation mean?
That the helmet is homologated in two configurations: P with the chin guard closed, like a full-face helmet, and J with the chin guard raised, like a jet helmet. You can therefore legally ride while open, which is not allowed on a P-only homologated modular helmet. ECE 22.05 homologation.

Why does it cost so little?
Because the first-generation Mathisse has been removed from the Airoh catalog, replaced in the range by the Mathisse II, and the Illusion graphic is no longer produced: this is one of the last pieces in stock, at end-of-series pricing. The helmet is still new, boxed, and covered by the manufacturer's warranty.

Is the Pinlock included?
Yes: the Pinlock 70 lens is in the box and the visor is already prepared to mount it. It is the inner lens that removes fogging in cold and humidity: it is applied once, before the first winter rides.

Can I mount an intercom?
Yes, the helmet is Bluetooth-Ready, meaning it is prepared to house a communication system. The intercom is not included and is purchased separately. On a modular helmet, it is advisable to choose a kit with a microphone that does not hinder the rotation of the chin guard.

Are spare parts still available?
Yes: Airoh still keeps spare parts for the first-generation Mathisse in its catalog, including clear, smoke, and mirrored visors, Stop Wind, liners, and air vents. The replacement chin guard is available in solid colors (matte black, matte bronze, gloss white), not in the Illusion graphic.

Is L my size and how much does it weigh?
L is for a head circumference of 59-60 cm: measure it with a tailor's tape measure just above the eyebrows and, if you are between two sizes, choose the larger one. It is the only size of this graphic we have. Size L uses the second, and largest, of the two shells. The manufacturer states a weight starting from 1,675 g, with a tolerance of 50 g; size L is above this value. For shipping, including packaging, we estimate at least 2.13 kg.
