Frequently Asked Questions

Does it fit my Shoei?
Only if it is a GT-Air 3, Neotec 3, or J-Cruise 3. Previous generations (GT-Air 2, Neotec 2, J-Cruise 2) have different compartments and are not compatible. When in doubt, write to us with the exact model and we will confirm it for you.

What is the difference from the Packtalk-S?
The helmet compartment is the same; the technology inside changes. The 4X-S uses Bluetooth intercom: up to 4 riders and 1.2 km. The Packtalk-S uses DMC mesh network: up to 15 riders and 1.6 km, plus it is IP67 rated and has a 3-year warranty instead of 2. The Packtalk-S has a list price 130 euros higher.

Does it connect to my companions' intercoms?
Yes, via Bluetooth, both with other Cardo units and with devices from major brands. Please note, however: if you connect to someone using a mesh-based Packtalk, the conversation will still take place via Bluetooth, with the limitations of Bluetooth.

Is it waterproof?
Cardo does not publish an IP rating for the 4X-S; some retailers indicate IP65. It is still a device designed to be on a helmet and handle rain, but if you want an IP rating certified by the manufacturer, the choice is the Packtalk-S, which is declared IP67. We prefer to tell you this clearly rather than writing a number that Cardo does not confirm.
