Frequently asked questions
Does the second helmet kit include the intercom?
No. The kit contains the parts to be mounted in the helmet: mount or clip, speakers and microphone, plus adhesives and velcro. The control unit must be purchased separately or taken from a second device. This is the correct solution when you want to use the same intercom on two different helmets.
What is the difference between a wired microphone and a boom microphone?
The wired microphone is flat and should be hidden in the cheek pad of a full-face or closed modular helmet. The boom microphone is rigid and positioned in front of the mouth: it is used on open-face helmets and modular helmets always used open, where the wire would not stay in place.
Does the Shoei Gen 2 adapter work on the Neotec 3?
No. Shoei changed the attachment between the second and third generations. Neotec II, GT-Air II, and J-Cruise II require the Gen 2 adapter; Neotec 3, GT-Air 3, and J-Cruise 3 require the Gen 3 adapter. Installing the wrong one will prevent the device from attaching.
What are booster pads for?
These are foam pads applied behind the speaker and work with 40mm and 45mm models. They bring the driver closer to the ear, gaining a few useful decibels without increasing the volume, which, in the long run, causes fatigue and distorts the sound.
