The Piaggio 834393 is the water thermostat cover, an original Piaggio spare part. It is part of the liquid cooling system: it closes the thermostat housing and is the point where the water hoses are connected. It is a part that is consistent across the entire generation of 125-200-250 single-cylinder engines from the Piaggio group of those years: the same code fits Beverly, X8, X9, Vespa Granturismo and GTV models, as well as the Gilera Oregon 250 quad.
✓ Strengths
- Original Piaggio spare part – code 834393, the same one installed in production
- Cooling system seal – this is the part to replace when the cover is corroded, cracked, or leaking fluid
- Exact fit – the thermostat housing, dimensions, and hose connections are standard: no surprises during reassembly
- Covers many models – four Piaggio families, two Vespas, and a Gilera quad
- Supplied new, original spare part

Who is this perfect for?
It is the part for anyone dealing with a coolant leak around the thermostat area, or a cover corroded by age and glycol – a classic issue on Beverly, X8, X9, and Granturismo models, which are now fifteen or twenty years old. It is inexpensive and solves a leak that, if ignored, can cause the engine to overheat. Being an original Piaggio part, it seals perfectly without any need for modifications.

Frequently asked questions
What exactly is this part?
It is the water thermostat cover: it closes the thermostat housing on the liquid cooling system.
Is it original?
Yes: original Piaggio spare part, code 834393. It is not a third-party part.
Is the thermostat included?
No. This item is the cover only; the thermostat and gasket must be purchased separately.
Does it fit my scooter?
Check the table above: it covers Beverly 125/200/250, BV 200/250, X8 125/200, X9 125/250, Vespa Granturismo 125/200 L, Vespa GTV 125, and the Gilera Oregon 250 quad. If in doubt, send us your VIN.
Why is the same code used on so many models?
Because they share the same family of 125, 200, and 250 cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engines: the water circuit is common.
Should I also change the gasket?
Yes, it is good practice: every time the thermostat housing is opened, the gasket/O-ring should be replaced.
