What is COVEC®?
It is the high-performance fabric from which the Bernis is made. Macna describes it as being composed of different types of fibers woven together in a single layer, to obtain a single material that is very resistant to cuts, tears, bursts, and abrasion; Cordura fibers are incorporated during processing, so they are woven into the outer shell. Also according to Macna, a single-layer jean is more breathable than one reinforced only in critical areas.

What does "Class A" of EN 17092 mean?
EN 17092 is the European standard for motorcycle protective clothing and has five classes: AAA, AA, A, B, and C. A is the third, designed for urban use and for light, breathable garments. Macna declares Class A approval for the Bernis.

What protectors does it have?
Macna states that the knees are equipped with internally developed R.I.S.C.™ FX level 1 protectors: flexible, thin, breathable, and height-adjustable, so you can raise or lower the protector based on your height.

Is the waist high?
Yes. Macna describes the feminine cut of the Bernis as high-waisted. The product photographs show the two-button closure at the front and, at the back, a V-shaped yoke.

Can it be machine washed?
Yes. Macna explicitly states this: thanks to the low "flex fatigue" of COVEC® yarn — the loss of strength after repeated bending — the jeans can be machine washed, and Macna claims they last almost twice as long as jeans made from other materials.

What is the Belt Loop™?
It's the pre-fitting at the back of the waist: Macna describes it as a fake belt to which the Belt Loop™ of a Macna jacket attaches, to prevent the jacket from riding up while riding and, especially, in case of an accident.

What size should I get?
Sizes follow denim numbering, which does not correspond to your body's waist measurement: measure yourself and compare with the table above, reported in centimeters and inches, and if you fall between two sizes, take the larger one. "Short" sizes have a shortened inseam of 71 cm (28.0 in) instead of 76 cm (29.9 in); Macna does not publish the measurement for "Long" sizes.
