Off-Road Helmets
Cross and enduro helmets feature a peak, a prominent chin bar, and multi-channel ventilation: designed for intensive off-road riding, motocross, enduro, and off-road touring. Here you'll find ECE 22.06 approved helmets from Airoh, Kappa, and Bayard, in single-use track models and more versatile versions also suitable for short road trips.
Cross Helmets: Guide, Tips, and FAQs
Strengths
- Visor peak – protection from direct sun and suspension spray from the rider ahead
- Extended ventilation – multiple channels to manage intense physical exertion
- Long chin bar – space to breathe at full capacity
- Goggle-ready – goggles included or available in the dedicated section
Important Notes
- A cross helmet without goggles does not protect your eyes: always use with dedicated goggles.
- On the highway, the peak creates noise and vibration: it is not designed for that use.
- After each off-road session, clean the air vents from mud and dust.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between a cross helmet and an adventure helmet?
A cross helmet is designed for intensive off-road use: lightweight, well-ventilated, without a full visor. An adventure helmet is a hybrid: it retains the peak and cross shape but also features a full visor, suitable for the road. If you primarily ride on highways and have occasional off-road excursions, the adventure helmet is the more versatile choice.
Do goggles need to be purchased separately?
It depends on the model. Some cross helmets are sold with matching goggles; others are not, and the goggles must be purchased separately. In the Goggles and Masks section, you will find goggles from Airoh, Global Vision, and other brands approved for use with off-road helmets.
Can a cross helmet be used on the road to reach the riding area?
Yes, if it is ECE 22.06 or 22.05 approved (check the label). Some racing models only have sports approval and are limited to the track. On the road, expect more noise and sensitivity to side winds due to the peak: consider an adventure helmet if you travel a lot on the road to get to off-road terrain.
