Motorcycle and Scooter Footpegs and Footrests
Footpegs are the third point of contact with the motorcycle, after the seat and handlebars: when the rubber wears out or the pin bends, the riding position changes and is no longer the same. Here you will find replacement footpegs and footrests for motorcycles and scooters, as well as footpeg mats and fastening hardware. The catalog contains 18 active items, mostly original Piaggio spare parts, plus CIF, Isotta and Dieffe.
Motorcycle and Scooter Footpegs and Footrests: guide, tips and FAQs
Original or universal spare parts
Rider and passenger footpegs are almost always model-specific spare parts, because the pin, spring, and end stop vary. Scooter footpeg mats, on the other hand, are often available in both original and universal versions that can be cut to size.
When to change them
When the rubber is worn to the point where the foot slips, when the pin has play, or when the return spring no longer brings the footpeg back into position. These are safety parts: a footpeg that remains lowered in a curve touches the asphalt and levers on the motorcycle.
The scooter footpeg mat
On scooters, the mat is the part that wears out first, because feet, sand, and water rest on it. It is available in a shaped original version, which fits into the points provided by the manufacturer, and in a universal version that can be cut to size. The former stays in place by itself, the latter costs less but needs to be glued well.
Frequently asked questions
Are footpegs model-specific?
Almost always yes. The pin diameter, spring position, and stop on the frame change from model to model. On the product sheet, you will find compatible vehicles.
Can the footpeg mat be cut to size?
The universal versions can. The original ones come already shaped for the model and are mounted with the предусмотренные fittings.
Can they be assembled by oneself?
Generally yes: they are one or two pins with a cotter pin or a circlip. The return spring is the most uncomfortable part and it is advisable to use pliers.
Can passenger footpegs be removed?
They can be disassembled, but on the road, the passenger must have footrests: without them, the vehicle is not compliant for carrying a second person.
How to choose the right spare part?
By the original vehicle code, not by appearance. If you have the VIN, we can verify it: write to us before ordering.
