The Piaggio 296754 footrest mat is the grey covering that protects the footrest of the Piaggio Free, the surface where the rider places their feet. It is an original Piaggio Group spare part, pre-shaped: it replaces the old one without any cutting or adapting. The upper side has a rough non-slip texture; the back is ribbed in a grid pattern, with three raised centering points (observed from product photographs).

When to change it
When the non-slip texture is worn out in the center – where the heels rest – and the surface has become smooth and shiny: at that point, in the rain, your foot will slip, and this is not just an aesthetic detail. Or when the mat has faded in the sun, hardened, or started to crack at the edges. It's inexpensive, takes a minute to change, and on the Free, it's the most visible part.
