Frequently asked questions
How often should flexible cables be replaced?
There is no precise deadline: it depends on use and maintenance. Periodically greased, they can last up to ten years. Signs to change them include the throttle grip returning with difficulty, a feeling of stiffness during release, or strands emerging from the casing. If in doubt, replace them.
Are universal grips suitable for all scooters?
For many, yes, but not for all. Standard grips have an internal diameter of 22 mm on the left and 25 mm on the right (where the throttle grip is). Some classic scooters and vintage Vespas have their own measurements and attachments: for these, it is advisable to stick to original parts.
Does the new handlebar cover need to be painted?
Some Piaggio codes are sold unfinished for painting (useful for restorations in the original color), others are supplied already painted in black or chrome. The finish status is always indicated in the title of each product sheet. If you are looking for the specific color of your vehicle, check the paint code before ordering.
