Frequently Asked Questions
Can it be used on the road or only for off-road?
It is suitable for both. The Blast XR1 is compliant with the European Regulation 2016/425 on personal protective equipment and protects the eyes from wind, dust, and debris in motocross, enduro, supermotard, and quad biking, as well as on the road when paired with adventure, dual-sport, on-off, and urban jet helmets.
Does it fit all helmets?
The frame is flexible and the size is universal: it is worn over the helmet, with the strap wrapping around the shell. It fits most off-road helmets as well as adventure, dual-sport, on-off, and urban jet helmets. For very angular helmet shells, it is advisable to try them on before purchasing.
In what light conditions should the silver mirrored lens be used?
The silver mirrored lens is designed for bright light: it cuts the glare of the sun and dirt paths, reducing eye fatigue during the central hours of the day. At sunset, in the woods, or under cloudy skies, it is better to switch to a clear lens, which Airoh offers as a spare part.
Is the lens anti-fog?
Yes. The lens has an anti-fog, anti-scratch, and anti-UV treatment, working in tandem with the frame's ventilation: airflow passes through the foam, limiting condensation without allowing dust to enter. On cold and humid days, keeping the goggle in motion rather than letting it sit against the face helps prevent fogging.
Can the lens and strap be changed?
Yes, both the lens and strap can be removed and replaced. Airoh's catalog includes red, blue, and silver mirrored lenses, as well as clear and dark lenses, spare straps, and twenty-piece tear-off packs, all sold separately from the goggles.
How do you clean the lens without scratching it?
Use only running water and a soft cloth, dabbing gently without rubbing; off-road dust can scratch the mirrored coating if the lens is wiped while dry. Avoid solvents and alcohol. The goggle weighs 230 grams, making it comfortable to wear for long periods without adding excess weight to the face.
