What is the DMC mesh network and why does it change everything?
In a Bluetooth intercom, participants are connected in a chain: if one detaches, the connection breaks and must be rebuilt. In the DMC mesh network, each unit talks to all others, and the network reconnects on its own when someone leaves and returns. Cardo defines it as "easy grouping, automatic reconnection": this is why the Packtalk Edge costs more than a Freecom.

What is the Air Mount?
It is Cardo's patented magnetic support: the unit attaches to the support by attraction, with one hand and even while wearing gloves, and detaches just as quickly when you get off the bike. The support stays on the helmet and is installed with a clip or an adhesive plate.

Can it be used in the rain?
Yes. The Packtalk Edge is the only Cardo in our catalog with a declared rating: IP67, which means it is protected against dust and temporary immersion. It is designed to stay on the helmet all year round. It is still good practice to dry it before recharging.

How long does the battery last and how long does it take to charge?
The declared battery life is up to 13 hours of talk time per unit. A full charge takes 1.5-2 hours, and fast charging provides 2 hours of talk time with 20 minutes of charging. For the first use, Cardo recommends charging the units for at least 4 hours. Software updates occur over-the-air via the Cardo Connect app.
