Frequently Asked Questions

Is it suitable for my Packtalk Edge or Neo?
No. Cardo explicitly states that the kit "is not compatible with Packtalk Slim and Packtalk Edge", and Neo, Pro, and Custom are not listed among the compatible ones. This kit is for Packtalk, Packtalk BOLD, Packtalk BLACK, and SmartPack. If you have a more recent model, write to us: there is a dedicated kit.

Why does the box say "scala rider" and not "Cardo"?
Because scala rider is Cardo Systems' historical brand, and the packaging for this accessory has never been updated to the new graphics. The Cardo logo is there, in the bottom right corner. It is the correct, original, and new product: we tell you beforehand so you don't get alarmed when you open the package.

Which of the two microphones should I install?
It depends on the helmet. The wired microphone is for full-face helmets, where the chin bar keeps the microphone close to your mouth. The boom hybrid microphone is for modular and open-face helmets, where a boom arm is needed to reach the correct position. Both are included in the kit: you install the one you need and keep the other as a spare.

Are the speakers JBL?
No: they are Cardo's standard 40mm speakers. They sound good and are the same ones many Packtalk Bold units come with as standard, but they do not bear the Sound by JBL brand. If you care about JBL, contact us, and we will check what is available for your line.

Can I use both helmets at the same time?
