Important notes
- Level 2 weighs and is slightly bulkier than Level 1: consider the trade-off.
- A protective vest is only useful if it fits snugly to the body: if it's loose, it won't protect you.
- The airbag must be reset after each activation: mechanical models require a new CO2 cartridge.

Frequently asked questions
Is the back protector mandatory in Italy?
Not by law, but an approved motorcycle jacket must have at least CE protectors on the shoulders and elbows. The back protector is not mandatory but is highly recommended: the spine is the most vulnerable area after the head. The cost of a quality Level 2 insert is minimal compared to the difference it makes in the event of a fall.
Is the motorcycle airbag worth the cost?
For intensive use, highway, and track, absolutely yes: it significantly reduces the energy transmitted to the shoulders, neck, and chest in the event of an impact. The initial cost is high, but an airbag lasts for years if it doesn't activate; and the additional protection it offers cannot be replicated by other passive systems.
Does a protective vest fit under any jacket?
Almost always yes, as long as the jacket has enough space over it. The vest is worn over a t-shirt and under the jacket, and it complements the jacket's back protector with additional protection for the chest and sides. Make sure the jacket is one size larger than normal to accommodate the vest.
