This is a bronze bush that acts as a radial bearing between the clutch gear and the shaft: it keeps the gear centered and operates by sliding in the gearbox oil. When it wears out, the gear develops play, the clutch becomes noisy, and engagement loses its progression. This part is always replaced along with the thrust washer 222488: they are on the same table and wear out together.

⚠️ Important notes:
- One bush is sold. Gear, discs, springs, and thrust washer are not included.
- On the same table is the 222488, the steel thrust washer: it's a different part, but they should be replaced together.
- The bush must be pressed into place: use a drift that rests on the entire crown, never hit it on the edge or it will become oval.
- After installation, check that the gear rotates freely: a bush pressed crookedly or crushed will bind on the shaft.
- Lubricate with gearbox oil before reassembly: bronze does not like the first dry rotation.
- If the shaft is scored or worn, the new bush will not last long: check it too before closing.
