What does 5 SHARP stars mean?
SHARP is the helmet rating program of the British Department of Transport: it buys helmets in stores and subjects them to more severe impact tests than the minimum required for homologation, assigning 1 to 5 stars. The Spark 2 has obtained 5 out of 5 stars. It is an independent evaluation, which complements and does not replace ECE 22.06 homologation.
Is the Pinlock included or does it need to be purchased separately?
It is included: in the package, you will find the Pinlock® 70 MaxVision lens, the extended field of vision version. Along with the helmet, you also get the double Stop Wind (summer and winter) and the removable nose guard.
Does it have an internal sun visor?
No. Airoh does not include a sun visor on the Spark 2: there is only the external visor, extra-wide, anti-scratch, and anti-UV. If you are looking for an internal sun visor in the Airoh range, check out the Mathisse II or Helyos.
How much does it weigh and what material is it made of?
The shell is made of HRT (High Resistant Thermoplastic) and is produced in two external sizes: the 1st for XS, S, and M, the 2nd for L, XL, and XXL. The declared weight starts from 1,590 g with a tolerance of ±50 g.
Can I install an intercom?
Yes. The helmet is prepared for Airoh AWC4 and AWC2 systems, which are installed in the pre-existing housings in the interior. The intercom is sold separately.
What is the ATVR system?
ATVR stands for Airoh Tool-less Visor Removal: the visor can be removed and reassembled without tools, with a single motion, to clean it or replace it with a tinted one. The visor also has an intermediate anti-fog position and a locking system when closed.
What size should I get?
Measure your head circumference about one centimeter above your eyebrows and compare it with the table above: sizes range from XS (53-54 cm) to XXL (63 cm). If you are exactly between two sizes, the larger one is recommended, as the interiors will settle with use.
What is the difference between this graphic and the other Spark 2 models?
No technical difference: shell, features, weight, homologation, and SHARP rating are the same across the entire Spark 2 range. What changes is the graphic — in this case, Lively Black Fuchsia — and the product code SP2L33. The solid color Color versions have a lower price than the graphic versions.
Why is it called «Mint» if it's not mint green?
Because «Mint gloss» is the catalog name Airoh gives to this colorway, not a description of the color. The helmet is black with fuchsia and fluo yellow inserts on a white base: you can see it below in the official Airoh photographs. We point this out because the name alone can be misleading.
