The complete Arrow system
On the same model pages, Arrow provides two other components that mount upstream of this muffler: the 71776MI central mid-pipe, in stainless steel, with 50 mm inlet and outlet and a weight of 0.5 kg, and the 71777MI racing headers, also in stainless steel, 50 mm outlet, 1.82 kg, with lambda sensor provision. Both, however, are marked "Racing" and are not approved: they are intended for closed circuit use only. The muffler, which is the only one of the three to bear the ECE marking, mounts alone to the stock system and remains perfectly road legal.

Is the Arrow 72639AKN approved?
Yes. On the official Arrow diagrams for the F 750 GS and F 850 GS 2021-2024, the 72639AKN appears with the ECE HOMOL. marking, which corresponds to regulation R92.01 on noise and power control. The homologation is valid for the vehicle types indicated by Arrow, i.e., MG85, and for road use, the db-killer must be kept in place.
Which BMWs does it fit?
On the BMW F 750 GS and BMW F 850 GS of the 2021-2024 series, both Euro 5. Arrow treats them as a single application because they share the same vehicle type, MG85, and in fact, the same code appears on both model pages of the official catalog. For F 800 GS and F 900 GS from 2024 onwards, Arrow provides different mufflers.
Do I also need to change the headers or the mid-pipe?
No, and it's worth knowing: the necessary stainless steel mid-pipe is already included in the package, so the muffler mounts to the stock system without additional purchases. The 71776MI central mid-pipe and the 71777MI headers are optional and, unlike the muffler, are not approved: installing them makes the system usable only on a closed circuit.
What is the "Dark" finish and how does it differ from the 72639AK?
"Dark" refers to the dark painted aluminum body that Arrow uses on this version. The rear end cap remains carbon fiber and the internal parts of the muffler stainless steel: compared to the 72639AK in natural aluminum, the external appearance changes, not the structure. The measurements are identical, while the declared weight is slightly different.

The muffler profile is the Maxi Race-Tech, the largest in the family, with a section of 112 × 140 mm. Is the db-killer included and can it be removed?
Yes, the db-killer is present and comes mounted in the muffler. It can be removed for closed circuit use, resulting in a fuller sound, but in that case, the muffler no longer complies with homologation: for road use and inspection, it must be reinstalled.
