Frequently Asked Questions
Is an homologated Arrow exhaust legal on the road?
Yes. Arrow mufflers marked "homologated" (Race Tech, Thunder, street legal Pro-Race) have a CE certificate with the OEV code reported on the muffler itself. It must be kept on board with the vehicle registration document: in case of inspection, it proves compliance. "Race Only" mufflers, on the other hand, are only legal on closed circuits.
Does changing the Arrow exhaust affect fuel consumption or the ECU?
An homologated slip-on muffler usually does not significantly affect fuel consumption or mapping. A complete Arrow system or a "open" racing header can require an ECU remapping (Power Commander, Rapid Bike) to optimize carburetion and avoid leaning out at certain revs.
Is the DB Killer needed in the Arrow exhaust?
Yes, for street use: the DB Killer is the removable part that keeps the motorcycle within noise limits for homologation. Removing it transforms the muffler into "Race Only" and makes the motorcycle non-compliant. On the track, it can be removed for full sound.
