The Arrow 71929AKN exhaust is the aluminum version with "Dark" finish of the homologated Indy Race slip-on that the Arrow catalog dedicates to the Aprilia RS 660 (2020-2024) and the Tuono 660 (2021-2024): matte black body, carbon fiber end cap, and db-killer already included. It is the most accessible of the three finishes.
Must be mounted with Arrow headers. On the RS 660 and Tuono 660, the 71929AKN does not work with the bike's original headers: the Arrow catalog requires it to be linked to the homologated catalytic header kit 71755KZ or the racing kit 71755MI. This is the first thing to check before ordering.
Strengths
- "Dark" finish — matte black aluminum with contrasting carbon fiber end cap: this version blends in with the side of the bike instead of standing out.
- ECE homologated for road use — when combined with the 71755KZ catalytic headers, it remains road legal, with the db-killer already supplied.
- The most accessible in the family — same Indy Race line and same homologation as titanium and carbon, at a significantly lower price.
- Does not affect electronics — does not require additional lambda or CO probes.

⚠️ Important notes
The exhaust end cap alone is not enough: one of the two Arrow header kits is also needed. With the 71755KZ homologated catalytic headers, the system remains road legal; with the 71755MI racing headers, it becomes a track configuration.
The Arrow catalog warns that when installing the racing header kit, it is necessary to upload the racing map by contacting an Aprilia dealer. Installation is recommended for qualified personnel.
Pay attention to proportions: the AKN is not just a different finish. Its body is 370 mm long compared to 270 mm for the titanium and carbon versions, and it is secured with a steel clamp instead of a carbon one. It is visibly a longer silencer on the bike.
Compatibility
| Brand | Model | Years | Vehicle type Arrow |
|---|---|---|---|
| Aprilia | RS 660 — Euro 5 | 2020-2024 | KS |
| Aprilia | Tuono 660 — Euro 5 | 2021-2024 | KS |
List taken from the official Arrow spare parts catalog. The two bikes share the same KS vehicle type and the same system: the code is unique for both. RS 660 and Tuono 660 from 2025 are Euro 5+ and have a different system.
The three finishes compared
Same Indy Race line, same homologation, same inlet and outlet diameters. But they are not the same silencer with three different paints: length, mounting, and weight change. All data is as declared by Arrow.
| Code | Body | Length | Mounting | Weight |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 71929AKN | "Dark" aluminum | 370 mm | Steel clamp | 2.23 kg |
| 71929PK | Titanium | 270 mm | Carbon clamp | 1.83 kg |
| 71929MK | Carbon fiber | 270 mm | Carbon clamp | 1.93 kg |

Who it's perfect for
For those who have a first-generation RS 660 or Tuono 660, want the matte black that matches the dark parts of the bike, and don't need to save the last four hundred grams. It's the entry into the homologated Indy Race range: same line, same approval, lower cost.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I mount the 71929AKN on the original headers of my RS 660?
No. On RS 660 and Tuono 660, the Arrow catalog links the exhaust to the headers with a mandatory connection: you need the 71755KZ kit (homologated catalytic) or the 71755MI (racing). For other bikes, Arrow offers exhausts for original headers, but this is not the case for this code.
Is it the same silencer as the titanium one, just painted black?
No, and that's what almost no one says. Arrow declares a body length of 370 mm for the AKN compared to 270 mm for titanium and carbon, and a steel mounting clamp instead of a carbon one. It weighs 2.23 kg compared to 1.83 kg for titanium. Inlet and outlet diameters remain identical, so the mounting is the same, but it is a visibly longer silencer on the bike.
Does it remain road legal?
Yes, the 71929AKN carries ECE homologation and is supplied with the db-killer. For a complete road system, it must be combined with the 71755KZ homologated catalytic headers: these are what maintain the catalytic converter. With the 71755MI racing headers, the configuration becomes for track use.
Does the ECU need to be remapped?
With the 71755KZ homologated catalytic headers, no. However, the Arrow catalog warns that, when installing the 71755MI racing header kit, it is necessary to upload the racing map by contacting an Aprilia dealer. The exhaust itself does not require additional lambda or CO sensors.
Is it suitable for both the RS 660 and the Tuono 660?
Yes. The two bikes share the same Arrow vehicle type, KS, and the same system: the code is unique. It applies to the RS 660 from 2020 to 2024 and the Tuono 660 from 2021 to 2024, both Euro 5. From 2025, the two bikes switched to Euro 5+ and use different codes.
Is it an original Arrow product?
Yes: it is a new exhaust manufactured by Arrow Special Parts in San Giustino, Italy, and is the code provided by the official Arrow catalog for the RS 660 and Tuono 660. It is shipped from Italy with an invoice and manufacturer's warranty; it is not a copy or a universal adaptation.
