Important notes

• Always check intercom compatibility: two Cardo units communicate via DMC, but a Cardo and an Interphone only connect via universal Bluetooth (reduced functions).
• A smartphone mount on a motorcycle must have vibration isolation for recent iPhones (idle vibration can damage the optical stabilizer).
• A dedicated motorcycle navigator (TomTom Rider) works in the rain and with gloves; a car navigator does not.

Which intercom is better: Cardo or Interphone?
Cardo (Spirit, Packtalk) offers JBL audio, DMC mesh for large groups, and a mature app: it's the choice for those who travel a lot or in groups. Interphone Cellular Line costs less and is excellent for rider-passenger pairs. Both connect via universal Bluetooth with helmets and phones of other brands.

Does a motorcycle smartphone mount damage the smartphone?
Yes, if it doesn't have vibration isolation. Single-cylinder scooters and sports bikes with handlebars vibrate in the band that damages the optical stabilizer of recent iPhones. Quad Lock, SP Connect mounts, and models with dampeners solve this. It's best not to install a rigid mount directly to the handlebar without a dampener.

Is a motorcycle GPS navigator necessary if I have a smartphone?
It's necessary if you ride a lot in the rain or in winter with thick gloves: a touch screen designed for motorcycles reads a gloved finger and rain, a smartphone does not. If you ride dry in the city, Google Maps with a damped mount is sufficient. TomTom Rider and Beeline Moto remain preferable for touring.
